A Brief Introduction

Hello, I go by the name Shampagen, and I am an amateur astronomy enthusiast who decided to make a website to share with the world the knowledge I have accrued on the subject. My journey began when I took my university's astronomy lab class, after which I signed up to be a "Roof Helper", or teacher for the practical part of the class. I was asked one term o make a study guide as our TA could not find the old one, and to construct it I used my own knowledge and a book called Star Names by R. H. Allen. While a fascinating read, I eventually learnt that it is in fact not the most reliable source, and so from there I branched out into other fascinating sources on the names and origins of the stars and constellations. Some great ones are Ian Ridpath's Star Tales, All Skies Encyclopaedia, and Theony Condos's Star Myths, just to name a few. I hope you will peruse this website and learn a thing or two about our night sky and the wondrous multitude of stories humanity has told about it.
