Nomenclature

Athebyne

The name is a bastardisation of al-Ḏi’bān, 'the two wolves', the indigenous Arabian title for the asterism composed of ζ & η Dra. The two wolves were depicted circling the Mother Camels to find an opening to al-Rubaʽ, 'the camel foal', that the mothers encircle.
