Nomenclature

Kurhah

Purportedly coming from Arabic al-Qurḥa, 'the white spot on the forehead of a horse', the name is one possible vocalisation of the indigenous Arabic name for the star. There are other ways to vocalise the name with different meanings, so the star name is of unknown significance.
